BRAND NEW MET OPERA SERIES LAUNCHES IN NOVEMBER '09

The 2009-10 Live in HD season commences in New Zealand cinemas from November 2009. The Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series The Met: Live in HD continues for its third season, featuring nine transmissions with many of the world’s greatest singers featured in brand new roles.

James Levine, Music Director at the Met said “This is a wonderful balance of repertory that includes four new works and a number of great operas that haven’t been performed for a long time”.

The popularity of the last two season’s productions has resulted in cinema audiences requesting another series. Sixteen cinemas nationwide have committed to the new series, and most cinemas have added extra sessions to accommodate the demand.
